The angel Gabriel is instructed by 
God to drive Adam and Eve out of 
the Garden of Eden


 
The First Sin
:  Adam and Eve are banished from the Garden, where they have just disobeyed God; and the first ever sin was committed.  Above them is Abel, murdered by his brother Cain; another first
 
The Annunciation
:
The angel Gabriel informs the  Blessed Virgin that she is to be the Mother of God.  "Ave Maria, gratia plena, Dominus tecum"

The Nativity:  Shepherds from fields 
afar, come in quiet admiration to pay homage to the Holy Child, as His 
reflective parents look on

The Epiphany
The manifestation of Christ to the Gentiles in the form of wise men from the East, signifying the revelation of God in Christ to the Gentile world (North sanctuary)
 
The Baptism of Jesus by John 
the Baptist
:  "And Jesus, when He 
was baptized, went straightway 
out of the water, and lo, the Heavens were opened unto him..."

Feast of Saint Matthew
After Jesus' call to Matthew to follow Him, the Patron Saint of the Cathedral prepares a great feast in Jesus' honor  Matthew 9:10 (South Transept)


 
Jesus heals the dumb
:
  "And as 
they went out, behold, they brought 
to him a dumb man possessed with 
a devil.  And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake; and the multitudes marveled, saying, 'It was never so seen in Israel'"  Matthew 9:32-33 (South Transept)
 
The Parable of the Pearl of 
great price
:
  "Again the Kingdom of Heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:  Who, when he had found one pearl of great price went and sold all he had and bought it"  Matthew 13:45-46  (South Transept)
 
Jesus visits Martha
:
  At the home of Mary and Martha, portraying one of the most beloved stories in the Gospel of Luke - Chapter 10:38-42

The Decent from the Cross
:
  Jesus' body is taken down from the cross.  He lies dead in the arms of His visibly distressed mother, Mary


At the foot of the cross:  John, the Beloved Disciple kneels poignantly


 
The Resurrection
"On the third 
day, He rose again":  Reinforcing our 
eternal hope and belief that because He has risen, we too shall rise at the Last Day
