We love watching our children grow. As parents, we track and celebrate the milestones: first words, first teeth, first steps. The Church has milestones as well, centered around the Sacraments. Baptism and Holy Communion are celebrations in which our kids are acknowledged as part of Christ’s Body, and through which they are encouraged to keep growing in their knowledge and love of Him forever.
In order to prepare children for their First Informed Communion (as well as for all parents and kids who want to deepen their understanding of the Sacrament) we will gather on Saturday, March 3, from 9 am to 1 pm for a parent-child workshop focused on the Eucharist.
Our time together will include a Godly Play story, liturgical instruction, making bread, and sharing a simple lunch together. You will also take home a family activity book, First Eucharist and Beyond. We believe continuing the conversation is the best way to foster family relationships about the sacraments. Parents are the first and most important influence on a child’s faith formation. When parents and kids grow together, the learning lasts a lifetime!
