Pre 4th of July Update

I am pleased to share with you that Bishop-elect Paul Lambert will celebrate his first Eucharist as a Bishop at the Cathedral on July 13^th at 10:30.  His family will be with us and we plan a reception following the service in his honor.

Do you like to sing our patriotic hymns?  Be sure and join us this Sunday because we will be singing a number of them as we honor and remember our Nation in our prayers.  

 Short Summer Sermons

You may have noticed that my sermons this summer have been short.  This is intentional.  We also have our children with us for the whole service.  In July, you will also notice a little different opening to the service.  All this is to take advantage of the summer months to try some experimentation particularly aimed at the participation of our younger people.  Let me know what you think.

The next meeting of our knitters group will be Saturday, July 19 at 10am in the Garrett Room.  (Our knitters provide the prayers shawls used for the sick and home bound of the congregation.)  All are welcome to this important ministry.

 Christian Education Director Search Continues

I have begun an active search for our new Christian Education Director.  Alicia will be continuing her studies at Dallas Theological Seminary and will be doing her field work assignment this next year.  Again, thanks Alicia for filling in this vital role for us.
